Immigration actions may involve multiple agencies that range from federal (U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Department of Justice) to county-level sheriff's departments and city/town police departments. Learning how to recognize different agencies can help keep community members stay safe.
Not all immigration agents wear vests that say ICE. Look for HSI or ERO - these are ICE agents.
Customs and Border Protection agents (CBP) are not ICE agents, but they work for Homeland Security and are authorized to enforce immigration law.
